SMSC brings the Hammer!

(Santa Maria, CA) - SMSC hosted another USA Swimming Block Party last night! The Block Party program is allowing SMSC to offer more competitive opportunities for our athletes.

Last night, athletes were able to compete in the longest freestyle event for thier ability and age. Many did their first 100 Free, 200 Free, 500 Free or 1000 Free!

Hats off to Amy Sage for the admin organization, seeding the heats and tabulating results. Many thanks to all of our volunteer timers.

Swim meets are the only really way for your child to experience the benfits of being in a sport. Being able to compete and 'test themselves" every few weeks allows for them to track what they are doing at practice to actual progress.

The coaching staff encourages you to take advantage of every opportunity to race that you can.
